Lifestyle Changes and a Carbon Free World...Muses about Helen Caldicott"s latest words

I have been saying for some time now, that a lot could be changed just by changing your lifestyle. Helen Caldicott seems to agree with this.
"There isn't one message, there are three. One is that we are in dire danger from global warming and that unless we pull our socks up and stop burning coal and stop driving our SUV's around doing five miles to the gallon and stop fracking and natural gas, we're doomed." ~Helen Caldicott

There is only so much that any one person can do, however collectively, if everyone just stopped shopping, not for a day, try it for a month, 6 months. Instead of buying that new car every year, drive it until it dies, or at least until it has 200+K on it. Why? Because while India and China are coming out with cars that can get up to 100mpg, our auto manufacturers are still giving us the same old chit. So boycott the auto industry.

A little overweight? Well pull up the lawn, and stop watering grass! Plant some fruit trees, and herbs and veggies. And then eat the veggies. That should shed more than 10-20 pounds. In addition to this Helen tell it like it is, a lot more "nicely" than I am though. She says that the media is NOT informing the public. And as far as I am concerned the general public depends on the media to spoon feed them information. So if the public does not get information, they stay ignorant, because they do not seek to educate themselves...about much of anything. She said that America is the most militarized country in the world. This is true folks. And you ask why there is not enough $ for education, healthcare or to transition off of fossil fuels? Think! If the military fuels all its jets, tanks and navy tankers with gasoline, think about it! Why would this government want to change the tune?

In closing Helen has written "Carbon-Free and Nuclear-Free:A Roadmap for U.S. Energy Policy
